Running the game
This is for the official Minecraft launcher
These instructions are for players using the default/official Minecraft launcher. If you’re using other launchers like MultiMC, PrismLauncher, or similar, you probably already know how to manage profiles - feel free to skip this section!
When you install Fabric for Minecraft, it creates a new profile in your launcher alongside the default ones. Think of profiles as different versions of Minecraft - they let you switch between different mod setups or game versions easily. To play, you must select the proper file and then add our server to your server list.
Playing for the first time
- Open your Minecraft Launcher as usual.
- Look for the dropdown menu next to the Play button. This is where you select your profile.
- Choose the profile that says
fabric-loader-0.16.9-1.20.1. The numbers may be slightly different if you have installed a more recent version of the modloader. - Press Play.
- Once the game has started, click Multiplayer and then Add server.
- Fill in the fields as follows:
- Choose any name as you prefer (we recommend “Nekodia”).
- The server address is
mc.skneko.moe. - For the server resource pack, we recommend Enabled.
- Press Done, select the server you just added and then press Join server.
- If you are asked whether to download mods or resource packs, click Yes.
- If you are asked to restart the game, say Yes. The game will close automatically. Then, continue with the instructions in the next section “Joining after the first time”.
Playing after the first time
- Open your Minecraft Launcher as usual.
- Look for the dropdown menu next to the Play button. This is where you select your profile.
- Locate the corresponding profile. This is the same one you used in the initial setup.
- Press Play.
- Once the game has started, click Multiplayer.
- Select Nekodia from the list and then press Join server.
If you want to make this profile easier to spot, you can personalize it:
- Click the Installations tab at the top of the launcher.
- Find the Fabric profile and click the Edit button (three dots).
- Give it a memorable name, like “Nekodia”.
- Pick a custom icon by clicking the dirt block image.
- Click Save.
Now you’ll always know which profile to use when joining us!
